I am the 2nd owner from Sep-2008. The first owner purchased the car new from Jacksonville-Lotus in June-2007. His service performed at local Lotus dealer. His dealer installed a stage-2 Larini exhaust. According to spec, this adds 4 hp to the stock 220 hp engine. The engine breathes better. It's loud, quietly crackles and pops. And fun.
By the math, power to weight ratio is 0.111 hp/lb.
During my stewardship of the car over the next 12-1/2 years, I added 8,xxx miles. Appropriate upgrades were added. Tasty bits from Sector 111 (aka InoKinetic) include a beautifully crafted aluminum welded baffled oil pan; lightweight brake rotors that are directionally cross-drilled; and Pagid-blue brake pads. Other Sector 111 bits were added cosmetically.
On four occasions I have driven the car at BMW club sponsored track events (HPDE). If you havent driven a Lotus Exige S on the track you havent really experienced authentic driving (or this Lotus). I am a senior who naturally and always drives cautiously. At my track events I was relegated but very happy to drive in the lowest novice class. I was not embarrassed. I drove safely and for the experience. This car is direct, connected, powerful and smooth. Many cars have more total power. None equal the driver connectedness of an Exige S.
I am selling because I do not drive it very much. Recent annual mileage is nominal. I have other cars and therefore I am distracted. I will miss the frequent vignettes of young boys jumping for glee as I pass by. I like to imagine theyve just seen a LeMans car flash by.
This Exige S is in in excellent original condition with a few discreet and desirable upgrades. I am looking for a respectful next-steward.
